Office of Communications

The Office of Communications provides strategic leadership that shapes the character, direction and underlying principles guiding the University’s institutional communications; takes primary responsibility for organizing University-wide resources, brand identity and positioning, internal and external communications, message content, media visibility/media relations and crisis communication; and fully integrates these efforts in service to the University mission and vision.



The Marketing department supports UT Dallas’ brand identity through the production and management of a united and consistent image across all segments of the University’s media channels. Marketing services include strategic/media planning and multi-media designs for such projects as brochures, publications, invitations, billboards and electronic messaging. A team consisting of professional graphic designers, a communication manager and a marketing coordinator assists clients with the design and execution of projects that most effectively achieve their goals. News and Media Relations

The Media Relations team works with members of the news media to facilitate interviews and connect reporters with experts and stories. The team is also responsible for internal and external dissemination of campus news and information. The mission includes providing the public with timely stories that highlight UT Dallas’ educational and research goals. The Periodicals office edits and distributes news about UT Dallas through print publications, newsletters, the University’s News Center and social media. University Web Services provides support for delivering accurate, current and relevant information on the website, email and other digital media. It has a primary role in delivering urgent/crisis communication, content management and promotion of the University’s brand standards on traditional/PC, tablet and smartphone platforms. The office focuses on user-friendliness as the key to integrating the hundreds of sub-websites and Web applications that make up the website.
