Celebrate your first-year success with your fellow freshmen at the "Ignite Your Future" event, which is an evening of fun marking the end of your first year at UT Dallas. Celebrate individual achievements, your class as a whole, new friends and moving on to your sophomore year.

Alternative Spring Break

The Office of Student Volunteerism hosts the Alternative Spring Break initiative, a nationwide program in which college students travel during the week of Spring Break to volunteer with non-profit organizations. Previous trips have included service projects benefiting the elderly, at-risk youth, homeless population, and special needs children, as well as assisting with hurricane relief, parks restoration, and environmental cleanup.

International Week

International Week celebrates rich diversity of culture by providing an array of international events, from Diversity Dinner Dialogues to dance parties. Passport to the World showcases a wide array of culture through food, music, and much more. At the International Talent Show, you can watch classical dances, musical performances, and other quality student performances from around the globe.

Fall 2020

Explore the WOW!

Explore the World of Work through an externship/job shadowing experience during Spring Break week. Receive a first-hand look at the valuable networking contacts and have the opportunity to see how classroom learning can be applied to real world situations.

First-Year Leader Program

First-Year Leaders have the opportunity to team up with a UNIV 1010 instructor to teach the course. They are students who have been trained to offer educational outreach to freshmen. Their mentoring helps new UT Dallas students succeed in the classroom and elsewhere on campus.

Education Abroad

Yes, you can go abroad on your sophomore year! The Education Abroad office offers opportunities to study abroad that allows for personal growth, a time to develop new insights into other cultures and an opportunity to enhance your global knowledge.
